Starting at $23,606 per year (range 16, step 1), with annual salary step increases up to step 5.
Under general supervision, assist in the preparation of instructional materials and demonstrations; operate, distribute and demonstrate the safe use of specialized and sometimes hazardous equipment, tools and supplies; tutor students and correct their work; maintain the instructional lab in a safe and orderly manner and perform related duties as assigned.
This position supports the Photography Area in the Art Department. Duties include the maintenance and upkeep of all photography labs, including a full lighting studio, a film / darkroom lab, and digital labs supporting the broader Art Department. Duties also include inventory and care of photographic and lighting equipment and inkjet printers and scanners, coordinating orders of materials and supplies, management of the MiraCosta Photo social media, and support of students during open lab hours.
Art Regular Position California Oceanside, Cardiff, and/or Carlsbad
One regular, part-time, non-benefited position, 18 hours per week, 10 months per year (August 1 through May 31) on the Oceanside Campus. The position schedule is subject to change by semester, per the needs of each semester’s course offerings. A typical schedule is arranged as 3 shifts of 6 hours per week within the following hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Examples of possible schedules include: Monday & Wednesday, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. & Friday, 12 - 6 p.m.; or Tuesday & Thursday, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. & Friday, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. The person selected for this position will be subject to assignment to any district facility during any hours of operation.
RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT:
MiraCosta College Board Policy 7800: Employee Residency requires all classified staff, administrators, and temporary/hourly short-term employees to maintain and permanently reside in a principal place of residence in the state of California that is within two-hundred (200) road miles from the employee’s regularly assigned district worksite. The purpose of the policy is to promote efficiency and continuity throughout all campus administrative functions, provide students with high quality assistance and accessibility to all academic and campus services, ensure that students receive an engaging education, and respond to emerging student needs.
The District may consider an individual request to temporarily reside outside of the State of California or outside the 200-mile limit on a case-by-case basis, not to exceed twelve consecutive months.
