Under direction of the College's chief instructional officer (CIO) or designee, independently performs a variety of duties related to articulation functions and services; coordinates articulation of District courses and educational programs, chiefly with 4 year institutions; provides a variety of technical and analytical support to facilitate the development and dissemination of formal written articulation and transfer agreements with colleges, universities, and statewide agencies; and serves as liaison between the Articulation Office and other District departments and divisions and statewide academic agencies and institutions.
The Articulation Officer will develop and monitor the articulation process to maintain transferable course equivalency agreements between MiraCosta College and other academic institutions through a variety of course databases (both internal and external) and monitor state mandated issues via C-ID and intersegmental meetings as a member of CIAC, SCIAC, Region 10 SCIAC, CSU, UC and state articulation and transfer meetings and C-ID conferences.
The selected candidate will collaborate with other full-time instructors in leading curriculum development and using culturally responsive teaching methods.
RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT:
MiraCosta College Board Policy 7800: Employee Residency requires all full-time faculty to maintain and permanently reside in a principal place of residence in the state of California that is within two-hundred (200) road miles from the employee’s regularly assigned district worksite. The purpose of the policy is to promote efficiency and continuity throughout all campus administrative functions, provide students with high quality assistance and accessibility to all academic and campus services, ensure that students receive an engaging education, and respond to emerging student needs.
The District may consider an individual request to temporarily reside outside of the State of California or outside the 200-mile limit on a case-by-case basis, not to exceed twelve consecutive months.
Compensation: Initial salary placement is based on education and experience and ranges from $98,448 (class I, step 1 x 1.1080 time factor for 195 on-duty days per year) to $164,812 (class VI-doctorate, step 10 x 1.1080 time factor) on the 2025-2026 Annual Salary Schedule.
