The Dean of Business and Technology, under the leadership of the Vice President of Instructional Services, executes all administrative responsibilities and facilitates planning and development of equity-minded, student-centered, and industry-responsive instructional programs within the disciplines that comprise the Business and Technology Academic and Career Pathway (ACP). The position also provides administrative oversight of the Child Development Center on the Oceanside campus. The Dean delivers leadership, vision, and direction for assigned areas, collaborates collegially with faculty, staff, and external partners to promote student access and success, and advances initiatives that align instructional programs with transfer pathways, workforce development, and regional labor market needs. The Dean participates actively in shared governance activities and works in close cooperation with other instructional and student services deans.

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT:
MiraCosta College Board Policy 7800: Employee Residency requires all classified staff, administrators, and temporary/hourly short-term employees to maintain and permanently reside in a principal place of residence in the state of California that is within two hundred (200) road miles from the employee’s regularly assigned district worksite.
The District may consider an individual’s request to temporarily reside outside the State of California or beyond the 200-mile limit on a case-by-case basis, provided it does not exceed 12 consecutive months.
