Starting at $84,053 per year (range 26, step 1), with annual salary step increases up to step 5.
Under general supervision, lead and participate in the work of other Science Laboratory Technicians and student assistants engaged in preparing laboratory equipment, materials and supplies to support student learning in assigned science laboratories; coordinate and manage multiple science laboratories in different building and campus locations; prepare and track laboratory budgets and prepare purchase requisitions; and provide assistance to instructors in developing laboratory demonstrations and experiments; work with faculty in preparing demonstrations, modifying lab activities and developing new experiments to support classroom learning.
Chemistry Regular Position California Oceanside, Cardiff, and/or Carlsbad
One regular, full-time, extended-day position, 40 hours per week, 12 months per year on the Oceanside Campus and San Elijo Campus. The regular schedule will include workdays Monday through Saturday and will primarily involve evening hours, in coordination with full-time lab staff. The position may also require work at any district location or authorized facility, including evenings and weekends as needed.
The person selected for this position will be subject to assignment to any district facility during any hours of operation.
This is an “extended-day” position with potential variability in daily work hours. Overtime compensation may not apply for hours exceeding eight (8) in a single day; however, hours worked beyond forty (40) in a standard workweek shall be compensated on an overtime basis.
The first-level interviews with the screening and interview committee will be conducted via Zoom. The second-level interviews will be conducted in-person.
RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT:
MiraCosta College Board Policy 7800: Employee Residency requires all classified staff, administrators, and temporary/hourly short-term employees to maintain and permanently reside in a principal place of residence in the state of California that is within two hundred (200) road miles from the employee’s regularly assigned district worksite.
The District may consider an individual’s request to temporarily reside outside the State of California or beyond the 200-mile limit on a case-by-case basis, provided it does not exceed 12 consecutive months.
